The Central Pacific region of Costa Rica (stretching from around Puntarenas/Jacó south to Quepos/Manuel Antonio and sometimes including areas toward Dominical) stands out as one of the country’s most popular and accessible coastal areas. Here’s what makes it particularly special:
Accessibility and Convenience
It’s the closest Pacific coast to San José (the capital and main international airport), with drives as short as 1 hour to places like Jacó or 2 hours to Manuel Antonio. This makes it ideal for short trips or as a starting point for broader Costa Rica adventures, unlike more remote northern (Guanacaste) or southern Pacific zones.
